Re: Megasquirt-Lizenzvertrag?

Re: Megasquirt-Lizenzvertrag?
@Acki. Use a legitimate product or you are illegal. @Acki. Use a legitimate product or you are supporting an illegal vendor. Fixed. And, furthermore, once there is working GPL FreeMS2 firmware available, all of your claims are null and void. Your claim is only to your firmware. If there is an alter...

Re: Megasquirt-Lizenzvertrag?
Right now, no, however in future, a VERY cut down variant could be used in that fashion. I did some work on that 2.5 years ago, and a bit more more recently, but nothing actually usable yet. Keep in mind that it's very feature-lean, and that that is on purpose. Testing, yes, users, not yet.

Re: FreeEMS - Open Source Motorsteuergerät
Because your OEM hardware is severely limited in many ways, includes stuff that isn't needed, and fails to include stuff that is. But whatever floats your boat, versatility is king :-) There is no "FreeEMS schematic", FreeEMS is firmware, schematics are for hardware which interface that fi...

Re: Megasquirt-Lizenzvertrag?
One last try - how big is the benefit (I'm sure you won't tell us) for a regular megasquirt from the master distributor Is it enough when we double this to be allowed to use a own design? As penalty? You've missed the key point here. There is no or little benefit (to James and Ken) in MS2 sales, wh...

Interesting confession that there is only a single channel for hw dev/sales. Nice to finally have it in writing.

Re: Megasquirt-Lizenzvertrag?
Part of the answer to that is probably speculative "bulk manufacture" + fear of getting stuck with dead stock.

Re: Megasquirt-Lizenzvertrag?
Great post! Even in Googenglisch :-) About MS being open source in the past, it never was. They simply took advantage of people's naivety. Whether or not that was intentional and malicious or through incompetence and by mistake is up for debate, and not really relevant. It takes your average MS user...

No war, just humour. As a nation, you're not famous for it. Keep in mind that I came here to offer some support because you were under attack. Aside from humour, let's look at the situation: Summary of facts: You want to build/use custom hardware with MSExtra variants on it, your way. They don't all...

ROFL, funniest thing I've seen all year! Thanks Germans, for inspiring James to write funny HTML. He's much better at it than firmware. http://www.msextra.com/doc/auth.php?f=ms2extra/files/release/ms2extra_3.2.5_release.zip Which inspired me to create this: http://stuff.fredcooke.com/FreeEMS.auth.co...

Re: FreeEMS - Open Source Motorsteuergerät
Andy (DeuceEFI) can ship you a USBDM (open sauce/sores/source) for $32 US + shipping, if you need one: http://www.coolefi.com/usbdm.php That can also let you upgrade your serial monitor on your MS2 stuff to a proper one usable by other tools. I'll attach that S19 to this post for future reference. I...

Re: FreeEMS - Open Source Motorsteuergerät
yes i could do but why no one need it Grossly wrong. Every time you take a random engine and put it in a random chassis, that's exactly what you need. Hence so many standalone manufacturers, MS's popularity, and FreeEMS's level of support. i also downgrade to freeems  Yes, you certainly do...

Re: FreeEMS - Open Source Motorsteuergerät
LOL! Nice :-) Give us a higher res image of your 25mm board, if you don't mind, I'm curious, morbidly so. But big question: Why not just design an entire board? What's the point in all the effort to DOWNGRADE the software from OEM to M$2 and keep highly limited OEM hardware in between it and the eng...
